These ceramic brush holders usually only need to be replaced if the motor is dropped.
The GM motors are usually burnt out if the carbon brushes need to be replaced. The armatures are usually too burnt up for them to be successfully replaced, even if the commutator segments are undercut and commstick used to clean the commutator, after they've been emery paper cleaned or "skimmed"
